FITTED FOR WORK - Connecting women with work
Are you embarking on a wardrobe clean-out? If you are, then Fitted for Work needs you...and your clothes!

Fitted for Work, which started in Melbourne in 2005, is the first national service committed to helping long term unemployed and disadvantaged women obtain work, maintain employment and ultimately achieve financial independence. We do this by offering business clothing (including a fitting service), as well as presentation and interview skills sessions to assist women on their path to self sufficiency.

We are pleased to announce that we are launching our service in Sydney, and need clothes to fill our new boutique. As we dress women for the workplace, we require lightly used professional clothing for all seasons, accessories and make-up for women of all shapes, sizes and ages. Please note that donated items do not need to be from expensive clothing labels. They simply need to be clean and interview appropriate.

The location for our new Sydney boutique is currently being finalised - if you do have clothes which you are willing to donate please drop an email to rowena.oneill@gmail.com or phone 0411 844 690 to arrange to have clothing collected. Also, please feel free to pass this onto family and friends. If you would like to know more about Fitted for Work and how you can get involved, please visit http://www.fittedforwork.org/

GIRLSAVVY Mentoring Program

Website: http://www.women.nsw.gov.au/Working/Working_YoungW_girlSavvy.htm

GirlSavvy, developed by the NSW Department for Women, is a project delivering one day workshops throughout NSW, to groups of between 50 and 80 girls aged 14 to 24 years old, with a primary focus on high school aged girls.

The workshop program inspires, motivates and educates young women about the importance of being economically empowered and financially independent. A range of activities broadly aims to boost self esteem, inspire young women about the diversity of job options available and focus on the benefits of good financial planning.

At each workshop, approximately 10 local women business owners, professional women and women of influence, each mentor a table of girls as they work through the program's small-group activities.

GirlSavvy mentoring is not an ongoing commitment. It requires a commitment of one day for the workshop, with a two-hour briefing the evening before.
