Women Lawyers Association of NSW

5 March 2007

Dear Members & Colleagues

WLANSW is re-launching our NSW Women Lawyers Achievement Awards, for outstanding women lawyers who have achieved excellence in their area of practice, while advancing opportunities for women in the law. These awards were last presented at our 50th Anniversary dinner in 2002. All members and their colleagues are invited to attend a cocktail party on Thursday 29 March 2007, during Law Week, to celebrate the re-launch of the Awards. The Launch will mark the opening of a 3 month period in which nominations for the Awards will be open, and is an opportunity for attendees to find out more about the Awards, obtain nomination forms, and mingle with their colleagues.

Our Gender Games seminar on 15 February 2007 with Candy Tymson as the keynote speaker was a success with the discussion generated among attendees about the issue of communicating, negotiating, and working with the opposite sex, lasting until well after Candy's presentation was concluded.

I thank those of you who attended the Gender Games seminar for contributing to its success, and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events in Law Week as noted below.

Yours faithfully,

Lee-May Saw
President

A reminder to visit their website, www.tocc.org.au, to support the campaign by sending an electronic postcard (or e-card) to lobby Government Ministers and the Opposition about solutions to the work/ cost of care crisis.
