Dear Members & Colleagues Membership Renewal for 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009 On behalf of the Executive Committee I thank our current financial members and corporate supporters for their continued support. If you are not currently a member or have not yet renewed your membership, we encourage you to consider the many benefits of membership and supporting the Association including reduced attendance fees for our events and programs. If you are a current member, wish to become a member, or wish to renew your membership, we ask that you forward your membership application for 2008-2009 to Kathryn McKenzie, Executive Officer, by no later than 15 June 2008, in order to allow most efficient processing of your application. Click here for Membership Form. Subscription to our e-newsletter, Her Say, is free, and you may be receiving the e-newsletter without being a current financial member. If you are unsure about your membership status, please contact our Executive Officer on (02) 4392 1185 or at executive@womenlawyersnsw.org.au. WLANSW is the peak body representing women lawyers in NSW and has been committed to improving the status and working conditions of women lawyers since 1952. Your support is valued by many women in the profession, by those that want more from the profession and by those that want to give something to the legal and wider community. Our ability to fund future projects and services depends on the contributions of our members. In addition to our Ordinary Individual, Regional and Subsidised memberships, Corporate and Associate membership categories are now available and a reduced rate for Individual Community Lawyers. Organisations that take advantage of our Corporate Membership rates can make considerable savings. Your company may already be investigating this opportunity. Please contact our Executive Officer with any enquiries. This year we have had great success with our involvement in mentoring programs, seminar and networking events, including our Work2Suit Forums, Women in Environmental Law, and Law as a Career functions. New initiatives and highlights have been the launch of our special interest Subcommittees, the launch of the UTS Student Law Society Women in Law Mentoring Program, our support of the International Women's Day events in the Sydney CBD, and the organisation of the 2nd Australian Women Lawyers National Conference to be held on 12-14 June 2008 in Melbourne. Please visit our website for further information or contact our Executive Officer with any enquiries. The Committee is currently finalising a number of events for the remainder of 2008. Our upcoming major function for this year is our Celebrating Women in the Judciary cocktail function on 24 July 2008 at the American Club. We invite you to join us and our distinguished guests on this special occasion. We look forward to your involvement with WLANSW and appreciate your continued support. As always, the Committee welcomes feedback from members as to any new WLANSW services or programs that you feel would be of benefit to you. Yours faithfully, Please feel free to pass this email onto colleagues and ensure they are on our email list for future updates and invitations. Problems viewing this e-newsletter?
