As we enter the festive season, I am delighted to report the return of our Christmas Shopping Day which will coincide with the evening of our Christmas Cocktails at the Law Society of NSW on Friday 27th November 2009.  We will have some great offers and door prizes!  Our Newcastle members are also invited to regional chapter Christmas Cocktails in Newcastle on Wednesday 25th November.

Further to our enews last week, I would also like to remind members that our AGM will be held at the Law Society of NSW at 5.30pm on Thursday 19th November. 2010 and Beyond: Flexible Working Arrangements Model Proposal launch
A joint project of the Australian Legal Practice Management Association and Women Lawyers Assoc. of NSW

Practitioners are invited to attend the launch of the FWA model proposal which was developed following ALPMA and WLA member feedback that a model flexible working proposal would assist both lawyers and their employers to propose and consider requests for flexible work. Hunt & Hunt have kindly agreed to host at their offices at Level 13 Gateway, 1 Macquarie Pl, Sydney. Guest Speaker: Nicole McKenna.

Frances Raday holds the Lieberman Chair in Labour Law at the Hebrew University and is Director of the Concord Research Institute for integration of International Law in Israel. She was Chair of the Lafer Centre for Women's Studies and of the Academic Committee of the Minerva Centre for Human Rights and Chief Editor of the Israel Law Review. She has been counsel in key legal proceedings on labour and discrimination issues and from 2000 - 2003, she was an Expert Member of the UN Committee for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women.
