| Dear Members & Colleagues We hope you enjoyed the summer break and festive  season. The end of 2009 brought welcome news for a number of our members who we  congratulate on their appointments: Mary Macken as incoming President of The  Law Society of NSW, Anna Katzmann SC as judge to the Federal Court of  Australia, and Prof Rosalind Croucher as the new ALRC President.

        | 2010 Children’s Law AwardsOrganised by the National Children’s Youth and Law Centre (NCYLC) and Mallesons  Stephen Jaques, the Awards will be presented by the Attorney General, The  Honourable Robert McClelland MP, on Friday 16 April 2010. The  Awards recognise and reward the achievements and commitment of individuals and  organisations who advance the legal rights and interests of children and young  people in Australia.  The Awards will also raise awareness of the legal issues and questions  affecting children and young people in Australia today. Nominations  close on Friday 19th February.
